Thich Nhat Hanh

We have mistaken intensity for truth, believing connection must announce itself through heat, urgency, and want. But what flares too brightly is often brief. Fire seduces the senses, then leaves only ash where meaning once struggled to live.

The most enduring connections are born in the dark ~ where minds recognize one another before names are ever spoken, where values echo softly across silence. It is not passion that binds here, but resonance. A shared moral gravity. Two inner worlds aligning not by force, but by inevitability.

There is a sensuality in this recognition that feels almost forbidden. No touch is required. Thoughts slip beneath the skin, linger in the chest and unravel defenses with unnerving precision. It is intimacy that breathes in pauses, that tightens in the space between words, that knows exactly where to haunt long after the moment has passed.

This is what has been lost. In a world obsessed with flesh, we have forgotten how devastating it is to be truly seen. Bodies are consumed, traded and abandoned ~ while the slow communion of minds is dismissed as too quiet, too demanding, too real.

Our bodies will betray us. They soften, scar and fade. But a connection rooted in intellect and spirit only sharpens with time. It deepens in shared memory, in mutual knowing, in the way another presence begins to live inside you. Not loudly. Not urgently. But permanently.

Raw, real, the vulnerability of truth is rare with connection built through understanding.

Darkness exposed by light, a balance... seen and appreciated for who we are, as we are.

Beautiful sentiments in a throw away culture.

I strive for more...
