The Divinity Of Life by Swami Tathagatananda

The Hindu mind is singularly dominated by one paramount conception: the divinity of life. Regarding the creation of the universe, Hindu tradition, based on the experiences of illumined mystics, asserts with deep conviction that God is the supreme creator of every thing and every being. The Reality within and the Reality without are identical. There is complete harmony between the individual and the universe, the microcosm and the macrocosm.

Life is no place~ Ram Tzu

for idle speculation. No one has ever learned from the mistakes of others. A lie cloaked in truth is still a lie. If it makes sense to you You're in real trouble. You always look for God in high places. Guess again…

Stanislaw Lem,

Man has gone out to explore other worlds without having explored his own labyrinth of dark passages and secret chambers, and without finding what lies behind doorways that he himself has seale

Light and Sound Form the Very Basis of Life

“If we look at the universe we will appreciate that light and sound form the very basis of the whole of the universe surrounding us including our own bodies…the creation… If these two elements are somehow removed from the universe, the universe would collapse or get dissolved or even more appropriately put, would simply cease to exist. This process is known as involution or ‘laya’ (in Sanskrit), as opposed to evolution. Light and sound form the very basis of life…

🌿 Ram Dass

Until you can allow your own beauty, your own dignity, your own being, you cannot free another. So if I were giving one instruction, I would say: Work on yourself: have compassion for yourself: allow yourself to be beautiful, and all the rest will follow.

Taittiriya Upanishad 1:4:2

“Thou art the source of all happiness and of all prosperity. Do thou come to me as the goddess of prosperity and shower thy blessings upon me. May the seekers after truth gather round me, may they come from everywhere, that I may teach them thy word.”

Aldous Huxley

"A child-like man is not a man whose development has been arrested; on the contrary, he is a man who has given himself a chance of continuing to develop long after most adults have muffled themselves in the cocoon of middle-aged habit and convention.”

Siila Prabhupada

Miyamoto Musashi

“Think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world.”

Atheism

Paul Brunton

Deep down within the heart there is a stillness which is healing, a trust in the universal laws which is unwavering, and a strength which is rock-like. But because it is so deep we need both patience and perseverance when digging for it.

Ernest Cline

"WheneverI reminded myself that I was looking at a star. One of over a hundred billion in our galaxy. A galaxy that was just one of billions of other galaxies in the observable universe. This helped me keep things in perspective."

The Divine Mother

The Divine Mother is the Kundalini (“coiled up” power) sleeping in us; without worshiping Her we can never know ourselves. All-merciful, all-powerful, omnipresent are attributes of Divine Mother.

She is the sum total of the energy in the Universe. Every manifestation of power in the Universe is “Mother”. She is Life, She is Intelligence, She is Love. She is in the Universe yet separate from it.

She is a person and can be seen and known (as Shri Ramakrishna saw and knew Her). Established in the idea of Mother, we can do anything. She quickly answers prayer.

Kahlil Gibran

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.

Ramana

“Bliss is not something to be got. On the other hand you are always Bliss. This desire [for Bliss] is born of the sense of incompleteness. To whom is this sense of incompleteness? Enquire. In deep sleep you were blissful. Now you are not so. What has interposed between that Bliss and this non-bliss? It is the ego. Seek its source and find you are Bliss.”

Dogen

“Studying the Buddha way is studying oneself. Studying oneself is forgetting oneself. Forgetting oneself is being enlightened by all things. Being enlightened by all things is to shed the body-mind of oneself, and those of others. No trace of enlightenment remains, and this traceless enlightenment continues endlessly.”

Jafree Ozwald

“Repeat the words, Quiet Mind, Open Heart, and Relaxed Being throughout your day, feeling these messages open up a space inside every part of your body. A quiet mind, open heart and a deeply relaxed core are the most potent manifesting qualities we can have.”

Hermann Hesse

Great masses of people these days live out their lives in a dull and loveless stupor. Sensitive persons find our inartistic manner of existence oppressive and painful, and they withdraw from sight… I believe what we lack is joy. The ardor that a heightened awareness imparts to life, the conception of life as a happy thing, as a festival… But the high value put upon every minute of time, the idea of hurry-hurry as the most important objective of living, is unquestionably the most dangerous enemy of joy.

W. Somerset Maugham

“Nothing in this world is permanent, and we’re foolish when we ask anything to last, but surely we’re still more foolish not to take delight in it while we have it.”

(Mundaka Upanishad 3:2:7, 8)

“When death overtakes the body, the vital energy enters the cosmic source, the senses dissolve in their cause, and karmas and the individual soul are lost in Brahman, the pure, the changeless. As rivers flow into the sea and in so doing lose name and form, even so the wise man, freed from name and form, attains the Supreme Being, the Self-Luminous, the Infinite.”

P Raymond Stewart

 Our spiritual journey is directed

towards God, towards our Source. We all are striving to be like God. This is not blasphemous or egotistical, but honest. It is evident that we are wanting to remember our divinity

Jim Dreaver, The Way of Harmony, Part 2

The split, the schism between the inner and outer, between the spiritual and material, is probably as old as humanity itself. At a personal level it translates into a conflict between trying to fulfill one's deep spiritual needs, while doing what's necessary to prosper in the world.

Many people get caught in one polarity or the other. Some become very spiritual, giving their whole lives over to the pursuit of truth: meanwhile they struggle to pay the rent and make ends meet financially. That was the path I took for many years, and it was my own need for balance, as well as my desire to share the treasure I found, the core insight, that inspired this book.

Others go in the opposite direction. The spiritual dimension in life sounds too abstract to them, too idealistic, and so they place all their trust in the material, in the world of the marketplace, money, technology, and things. While they may accumulate material security and do well in the world, there is a chronic dissatisfaction, a lack of real inner peace and happiness, in their heart and soul.

Robert Adams

Bear in mind that there's nothing

that can hurt you. There are no devils, no demons. All of that is mental .. The mind seems to always go to the negative, because it is trying to save itself from annihilation. It doesn't want to be destroyed. Therefore, it will scare you .. Your mind will do anything. It will play all kinds of games with you. Keep up the Self-inquiry

Guru Nanak

“God is one, but he has innumerable forms. He is the creator of all and He himself takes the human form.”

Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. ❤

The bliss of God-Consciousness always exits in you. It is only hidden by the veiling and projecting power of maya. The less you are attached to the world, the more you love God.

(Mundaka Upanishad 2:2:2)

“He, the self-luminous, subtler than the subtlest, in whom exist all the worlds and all those that live therein–he is the imperishable Brahman. He is the principle of life. He is speech, and he is mind. He is real. He is immortal. Attain him, O my friend, the one goal to be attained!” (Mundaka Upanishad 2:2:2) Not only must we attain God, we must understand while striving that He is the only goal to be attained– for everything else is antithetical to our eternal nature.

Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

Love children especially, for like the angels they too are sinless, and they live to soften and purify our hearts, and, as it were, to guide us. Woe to him who offends a child.

Vasistha to Rama

When the mind is at peace and the heart leaps to the supreme truth, when all the disturbing thoughtwaves
in the mind-stuff have subsided and there is unbroken flow of peace and the heart is filled with the
bliss of the absolute, when thus the truth has been seen in the heart, then this very world becomes
an abode of bliss.

 (II:12) Aum Namoh Narayana

Kabir: In the bliss of Sahaj

My mind has returned
To its own primal state;
I realized the Lord
When I died while living.
Says Kabir: I am merged
In the bliss of Sahaj;
I no longer know fear,
Nor inspire it in others
