Insubstantial Substitutions BY The Mystical Lion

 

All of our lovers, all of our relationships, are substitutes for our own essential Heart. What we truly desire is our own direct and immediate experience of Love. However, believing that we have lost it, that we bequeathed it to our parents and their subsequent substitutes, and that therefore we must somehow “get it” from outside ourselves, we seek it in the mirror-maze of our countless interactions. This is why we remain fundamentally unfulfilled despite our most heart-wrenching efforts: because we seek outside ourselves that which can only be found within.
