In reality, time and space exist in you; you do not exist in them. They are modes of perception, but they are not the only ones. Time and space are like words written on paper; the paper is real, the words merely a convention.

Discard all you are not and go ever deeper.

Just as a man digging a well discards what is not water ... so must you discard what is not your own, till nothing is left which you can disown.

You will find that what is left is nothing which the mind can hook on to. You are not even a human being.

You just are - a point of awareness, co-extensive with time and space and beyond both, the ultimate cause, itself uncaused.

If you ask me “Who are you?”, my answer would be: “Nothing in particular. Yet, I am.”

Nothing to attain,it’s already there!

The ideas regarding turning back to our own source are not the

invention of the author of this book, but are to be found in the

teachings of the saints and sages. Here are some quotes from the

various saints and sages who refer to the idea of “turning back”

Sant Kabir says:

By withdrawing (from the sense organs) and becoming

absorbed in one’s own self the infinite light dawns and

manifests…

Turn inward and move forward by gathering your

dispersed mind…

When the water of a vessel (individual soul) merges

back into the river (Inner Being; God) then we call

this the state of supreme wisdom.

…

Guru Nanak Dev says:

[Beholding] the inverted lotus which is full of nectar

[indicating the joyous experiences within], now my

mind goes not elsewhere.

Sant Gulal Sahab also advises to go inward:

Go inward and see the light permeating within…

Sant Tulsi Sahab says:

Turn inward and fly to the greatest heights, and

leaving the various realms of existence unite your soul

with the Divine.

The Garland of Guru’s Sayings by Sri Muruganar

When the delusion which has veiled Self, the Light of Consciousness of unlimited Bliss [Sat-Chit-Ananda], is destroyed by the clear enquiry “Who am I?”, one’s own Nature will shine forth gloriously as the Atmakasha [i.e. Space of Self].

Bhagavata Purana

"A man sees his father dying and his son being born and infers that he, too, goes and comes like that. However, the Atman (The Self) who is the knower of the birth and the death of the body, beside whom there is no other, is not subject to being born or dying. He is the seer and thus cannot be the seen.

The Atman is like a man that watches a plant sprouting from its seed, growing to fullness, then decaying and dying. The man is not the plant. The Atman is the knower of the body and its changes; he is always apart from the body."

Death is the ultimate union of self and All.

When a person is dying, his voice goes into his mind; his mind into his breath; his breath into heat; the heat into the highest divinity. that which is the finest essence - the whole world has that as its soul. That is Reality. That is Atman. That art thou, Svetaketu. [Chanodgya 6.8.6]

As these flowing rivers that tend towards the ocean, on reaching the ocean disappear, their name and form are destroyed and it is called simply "the ocean" - even so of this spectator these sixteen parts that tend towards the Person [Purusha, the cosmic unity], on reaching the Person disappear, their name and form are destroyed, and it is called simply "the Person." [Prasna 6.5]

Death is better than life.
When one has come into the presence of undecaying immortals,
What decaying mortal here below, who understands,
who meditates on the pleasures of beauty and delight,
Would delight in a life over-long? [Katha 1.28]
When are cut all the knots of the heart here on earth, then a mortal becomes immortal! [Katha 6.15]

Before it is too late ~ Padmasambhava

However industrious you may be, There is no end to worldly activities; But if you practice the Dharma You will swiftly conclude everything.

However nice they may seem, Samsaric affairs always end in disaster; But the fruits of practicing the Dharma Will never deteriorate.

Since beginningless time you have collected and encouraged Karma, negative emotions, and habitual tendencies, Which force you to wander in samsara. If you continue like that, when will liberation arrive?

If you only see all this at the moment of death, It’s rather too late - When the head’s already been severed, What use is any medicine? Recognizing the suffering of samsara, Turn toward the peace of nirvana.
