Living in the present moment requires a disciplined mindfulness practice. You watch whatever arises as it arises with equal, unattached mindfulness, not to follow, trust, or believe the thinking ego-mind. Good and bad have no power. Where you place your trust is in Love.
Love is Trustworthy and has its own designs for change.
However tempting, you give little to no attention to the turbulent hurt, anger, and fearful thoughts when they arise and return to a calm center and be still.
Being still while watching even the chaos means being a witness and having no attachments, trusting Love. What arises then is compassion and something within that makes you want to help others.
Being still means recognizing the patterns of thoughts and having the ability not to follow or feed them. Quieting the mind. Reconditioning the mind.
