Extract from "The Ultimate Reality" by Jean Klein

There are four stages in the cycle of being. At the first stage, Consciousness is in the object, it is immersed and lost in things and is indistinguishable. Man is then his anger, his fear, his intelligence; he is what he sees, what he feels.

At the second stage, the subject detaches from the object and the "Conscience-Witness" appears. Then the man said, “I am not my body, I am not my anger, but I am the “Knower” of these things. "

In the third stage appears the Consciousness of the "Witness without object". So we can no longer call him a witness but "Pure unitive conscience".

In the fourth stage, pure unitive Consciousness is realized as "Divine Consciousness" the creator of its object, and the Real is no longer "sat-cit-ananda" Unity.

Therefore we are established in a stability that can no longer be affected by the movement of the world, things or beings.

These still exist, but they take on their true meaning. We do things because they have to be done and we adapt to all the circumstances that arise.

Only then is realized what most psychologists doubt is the transformation of the psycho-physiological organism by the establishment in the stability of the background.

Then we understand the enormous waste of time that purifications and disciplines represent.
