"While passing from one lifetime to another, the soul forgets the past. This forgetfulness is also a gift of God. If we did not forget, how could we continue to live? The pain of separation from those we love is mitigated by passing time to make it possible for us to undertake new ventures and discover new truths. All is known to our subconscious selves, but such knowledge is more than we could bear in the midst of the illusions of material life. We have chosen to forget so that we can experience independence from God and learn what we must learn. That forgetfulness is God’s gift. When the time comes for us to remember the truth again, the memory of ourselves and the understanding it brings are also gifts of God."
