Bassui Tokusho

The chattering mind can lead us down difficult paths, oftentimes one sided, unskilled paths, that we seem to unconsciously follow. But here we should stop and make a conscious effort to ask who is the one that listens to this unskilled chatter? When this is contemplated, nothing tangible can be found, only a reactionary layer of conditioning. If we don’t wish to be mere puppets of our conditioning, we contemplate to an even more profound level. Quietly, we bore down until every vestige of the conditioned self, fearful and feeble, vanishes. No longer are we bound to the path of the limited mind. Like arising from the dead, we become open and equitable as the cloudless sky. This is the ongoing practice of realization.
