In the Western view:
The created soul is not a transcendent entity—the impurities of the mind taint the soul (which is equated with the mind) and therefore the grace of a savior is required. Do sinful acts, savior forgives. Repeat.
According to Vedic Sanatan Dharm of Hinduism of India:
The impurities of the mind can never taint the transcendent, ever-pure and immortal Self, which is not a created entity; therefore, the Self does not need the grace of a savior. Dharmic acts propel spirituality towards oneness with the Divine.
When impurity is removed from the mind, the bliss of the Self is spontaneously experienced.
