Stay present as an observer of your mind, your thoughts and emotions as well as your reactions to the various situations. Take interest in at least both your reactions and the situation or person that makes you react.
Also note how many times your attention goes to the past or the future. Don't judge or analyze what you observe. Contemplate the thought, feel the emotion, observe the reaction. Don't make them a personal problem. Then you will feel something more powerful than any of the things observed: the very presence, serene and observant, which is behind your mental contents; the silent watcher.
