As long as we are lost in life we will blame the world for our pains and unhappiness, and so the conditions for this pain and unhappiness never end. With loving awareness we will see and so understand that the cause of our difficulties is not the other being, but our insistent demand that they continually please and satisfy us. We cannot change them, but we can change ourselves. We can open our heart and no longer be a victim to the fears that we carry. This is called the Path of Maturity. With awareness we see. With love we accept. With wisdom we respond. This is the whole of Dhamma.
