Sant Mat has a lot of teachings about right conduct, and about being introspective. Not everyone follows these closely however. Also, at the astral level, ego is alive and well. Not much difference between the astral and the material realm in that regard. I’ve known satsangis that seem to be coming from an unhealthy place despite their proximity to a master, supposed great meditations, or being involved in seva projects related to satsang. Perhaps they aren’t getting or following the proper guidance, and their forerays into the world of inner experiences are part of the illusion of spirituality. Phantasmagoria is the word for this. :) I like how Huzur Maharaj Rai Saligram emphasizes the bhakti-love aspect of the path being the true foundation for the spiritual path and having noble intent – intent is everything: “The practices which have been taught for purifying the spirit and making it ascend upwards should be performed regularly and with feelings of love.”
