The annual Shankara Jayanti Mahotsava

The annual Shankara Jayanti Mahotsava, marking the birth of the pre-eminent 8th century philosopher saint Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya will be celebrated with great gusto, in accordance with the traditions of the Sringeri Mahasamsthanam, from May 5 to 10, 2019.
Throughout the week, special pujas will be performed in the mornings at the majestic temple of Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada in the precincts of the Math. Parayanam of the four Vedas, the Prasthana Traya Bhashyas and the Madhaviya Shankara Digvijaya will take place on all these days. Spiritual discourses by eminent scholars in the august presence of Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam have been arranged in the evenings.
On May 9, Shankara Jayanti day, Sri Mahasannidhanam will perform a special Puja at the Sri Adi Shankaracharya temple.
On May 10, marking the sixth day of the lunar month of Vaishakha, the grand Rathotsava (car festival) of Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpadacharya will be conducted in the morning in the august presence of the Ubhaya Jagadgurus.
All devotees are welcome to participate in this auspicious festivity and be the recipients of the benign blessings of the Jagadguru.
