Hiranyagarbha: The First Born

Vedanta envisages Brahman as being both transcendent and immanent, as unconditioned and conditioned. Brahman in its true absolute transcendent state is birthless, changeless, innite whole- Existence, Knowledge, Bliss- and is called as “Nirguna Brahman” or “Para-Brahman” , whereas same Brahman in his immanent state of manifestation, with its mysterious power of Maya manifesting the Universe as an appearance, is called as “Saguna Brahman” . This Saguna Brahman is in-turn understood as “Karana Brahman” or the undifferentiated cause of the universe, and as “Karya Brahman”- the manifested Universe, which is the effect. Bhagavad Gita, refers to Brahman in its Karya, Karana, and Para aspect as Kshara Purusha, Akshara Purusha, and Purusha Uttama, respectively. The Upanishads call Nirguna Brahman and Karya Brahman as Para (Higher) and Apara (Lower), respectively.

Vedic temples are energy centers

At the heart of Vedic tradition and Hindu life is the sacred tradition of temples, the energy centers where the Divine resides. Any human settlement in vedic civilization has flourished around temples making Hinduism, a temple-based civilization of celebratory traditions. Each temple is an energy circuit created by an enlightened master or incarnation and retains that energy for thousands of years. Temple rituals are processes to invoke and radiate different energies.

Agni Yoga/Encounters with Evil

Encounters with Evil

Every person on this Path necessarily encounters opposition of evil forces represented by incarnate and non-incarnate beings. They are representatives of chaos, dark ones. Their “darkness” is not only a symbol but also a quality of the coarse, degraded consciousnesses, a quality that can be seen by clairvoyants.
Who are they? How can one recognize them? They are people living in the emotions of hatred (anger, irritation, condemnation, etc.). They are disposed to violence, falsity, betrayal. This concerns both incarnate people and non-incarnate people-spirits because after disembodiment souls retain their qualities.
However, the forces of evil are absolutely necessary for those walking towards the Light, because they create the necessary tension, the opposition that alone can temper the character of the warrior. Without passions and exertion of all strengths up to the highest degree, one cannot approach the Goal. Encounters with the forces of evil make the warrior seek unity with the Lord — this is why they are important.
“Some light-minded people believe that mechanical utterances of the Highest Names can protect them from dark attacks. However, it is the pure fire of the heart, rather than mechanical actions, that creates a firm shield.”

C.G. JUNG, THE PSYCHOLOGY OF KUNDALINI YOGA

“A man who is not on fire is nothing: he is ridiculous, he is two-dimensional. He must be on fire even if he does make a fool of himself. A flame must burn somewhere, otherwise no light shines; there is no warmth, nothing.”

Vivekananda

All of a sudden the progress will stop one day, and you will find yourself, as it were, stranded. Persevere. All progress proceeds by such rise and fall.

Vivekananda

Everything is temporary; emotions, thoughts, people and scenery. Do not become attached, just flow with it.

We came whirling out of nothingness, scattering stars like dust... the stars made a circle, and in the middle, we dance.

“Let your will burn in this fire so that it takes you nowhere else. Let your self be burned in this fire of eternity, love and peace. Don't be afraid of this fire, it is love itself. This desire for freedom is the fire of love!”

“The most holy association is to Be as you are. This is Freedom. This is beyond imagination, very new and very fresh. So just keep Quiet. Do not think. It is you. It is you. Don't stir a thought, and if a thought comes, let it, don't waver, don't doubt your majesty. It is so simple. The one who has It will know that they have done it. When you are quiet it is Beauty, Joy and Stillness. It is effortless. Effort is to disturb your mind, effort is playing with corpses in the graveyard. Just contemplate that which is always silence. Go to the Source. Do not believe anything, simply stay quiet and return home and do not rest until you are there. Peace is only available when there is no “I” and you need an “I” to do practice. The secret to Bliss is to stop the search, stop thinking, stop not-thinking, and keep Quiet. The best practice is to Know “Who am I.” You are Brahman, know this. If you want to do anything, just Always adore Self.”

The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying

“For meditation to happen, calm and auspicious conditions have to be created. Before we have mastery over our minds, we need first to calm their environment.

At the moment, our minds are like a candle flame: unstable, flickering, constantly changing, fanned by the violent winds of our thoughts and emotions. The flame will burn steadily only when we can calm the air around it; so we can only begin to glimpse and rest in the nature of mind when we have stilled the turbulence of our thoughts and emotions. On the other hand, once we have found a stability in our meditation, noises and disturbances of every kind will have far less impact.”
